Mission Statement

The Friends of the Reading Police K9 Unit’s mission is to fully fund the development of the Reading Police K-9 unit, and to obtain and oversee its future financial needs by raising private sector funding for the purpose of:

  • Crime reduction
  • Safety of the public, and of the Police.
  • Service to citizenry
  • Reduction of the presence of suspicious individuals.

Friends of the Reading Police K9s are fully sanctioned by Reading Mayor Tom McMahon,
Reading Police Chief William M. Heim, and are
generously supported by local business and individuals.
